Kiev 19M
Kiev 35A and Lomo
The Lomo is one of the great cult cameras of our age, featuring a 32mm f/2.8 lens which is very sharp! It has a four-position zone focus with the indicator light sticking up through the viewfinder. The auto-exposure mode works great, making this a sort of cast-iron point-and-shoot. Yes, sirs and madams… this is the one Popular Photography called “…funky and clunky and ugly chic! Can 50 million…be wrong? Nyet!”. If the two-syllable “coo-ool” is what you consider yourself, you need a Lomo sticking out of the pocket of your distressed jeans. For more info, visit the LOMO Society Page.
The Kiev 35A is an exact copy of the Minox 35 and similar to the Pentax 35EL. You set the aperture, and the camera sets the speed! This aperture-priority model utilizes match-needle metering and has a fold-down 35mm f/2.8 lens. A uniquely-placed thread for a shutter release cable placed inside of the shutter release button on top of camera makes this a very versatile compact camera. Includes English instruction book, zippered case, and 90-day warranty. (Uses four 1.5-volt batteries, Maxell LR-44 or equivalent)
The Fed 5C is the latest in a long line of Russian screw-mount, Leica-inspired cameras dating back to before World War II. Highly functional, it's even got such semi-modern features as a single-stroke film-wind crank, a single-contact hot shoe, and a self-zeroing frame counter. The FED 5C accepts Russian screw-mount lenses made for Zenits and Zorkis, such as the 'normal' 55mm f/2.8 (included with purchase of body), 20mm f/5.6 (shown here with finder) and 85mm/2 lenses featured here. Also shown is the Universal finder which works with 28mm, 35mm, 50mm, 85mm, and 135mm lenses. The FED 5C's horizontal, cloth focal-plane shutter offers a range of speeds from 1 to 1/500 second plus B, and features a separate 1/30th second setting in red which sets for X-synch flash. And, the built in meter needs NO batteries! The eyepiece is large, the viewing image clear…eyeglass wearers are able to see the entire etched frame with parallax-compensation marks in a single glance. The focusing helix of the standard 55mm f/2.8 Industar 61 L/D lens has a very smooth, reasonably well-damped action, while the knurled focusing collar at its rear is easy to grasp. Its metric focusing scale gets down to one meter.

The ZENIT K-mount series (shown below) is very popular among Pentax enthusiasts since both the Zenit and Pentax share the 'K' (or bayonet) mount. Conversely, the Zenit lenses are very popular since they are a high-quality and cost-effective alternative to Asahi Pentax lenses. (By the way, Zenit lenses come in both screw and bayonet mounts).
ZENIT Model 122K takes lenses with bayonet (K) fittings and, via an adapter, it accepts interchangeable lenses with M42x1 screw mounts. A semi-automatic exposure meter operates through the lens (TTL system) providing correct exposure with the standard lens as well as with interchangeable lenses, filters, supplementary lenses, or extension tubes. LED metering in viewfinder indicates correct exposure setting, which can be seen both with the diaphragm fully open or stopped down, and instant mirror return ensures continuous viewing of a subject before and after exposure. A high-speed 58mm/f2 MC Helios-44K-4 lens with preset diaphrgm mechanism (which automatically closes the diaphragm down for the moment of exposure) is included as well. Shutter speeds range from 1/30 sec to 1/500 sec with B, and distance scales from .5m to infinity. Filter size is 52mm. Power is supplied by twp 1.5 volt batteries (Maxell LR 44).
ZENIT Model 212K features extended shutter speeds ranging from 1/8 sec to 1/500 sec, LED metering in viewfinder to indicate correct exposure setting (can be seen both with the diaphragm fully open and stopped down), instant mirror return, high-speed 58mm/f2 lens with preset diaphrgm mechanism, built-in self-timer enabling self-portraiture, and both hot shoe and PC connector for flash units with either cable and cableless connections. ZENIT 212K comes with case, strap, and English instructions. No self-respecting Pentax user should be without either a screw or K-mount ZENIT camera and lots of lenses!
